Finally! Qualcomm Shows How to Make Android Smartphones

Probably, everyone has such companies from which we would like to get a smartphone. It’s not clear where, but for some reason, it seems to us that they would definitely have gotten something worthwhile. Tesla, Facebook, and Qualcomm are considered the most popular contenders – of course, only in the minds of ordinary people – for the release of smartphones. But if the first two brands are unlikely to do this in the foreseeable future, then the manufacturer of mobile processors seems to have a genuine desire to enter this market.

Despite the fact that Qualcomm has been producing mobile processors for a long time, the manufacturer itself has never had a desire to start producing smartphones as well. Of course, a few years ago he was credited with a connection with Xiaomi, which was called a subsidiary of Qualcomm, but this information has not been confirmed. Now I think that the Chinese themselves spread these rumors in order to give themselves weight, because then, at the dawn, no one knew about them yet. And the Qualcomm protectorate looked like a good reason to buy a smartphone of an unknown but clearly promising brand.

First Snapdragon 875 Smartphone

Now, according to some reports, Qualcomm has teamed up with Asus to launch a gaming smartphone under its own brand. The novelty may become the first or at least one of the first smartphones with the Snapdragon 875 processor. Still, in order to run top games on a device, it needs to be equipped with top-end hardware. But since Qualcomm will present the next flagship chip to the world in the near future, it is logical that it is necessary to choose it as the basis of the future device.
If rumors are to be believed, Asus’ involvement in the project will be less significant than one might expect. Qualcomm plans to deal not only with the hardware but also with the appearance of the future smartphone. But why, then, would Qualcomm need Asus’ help? Most likely, the point is that not very many devices are planned to be released, and Qualcomm needs spare parts for production. But you will not strain suppliers with tens of thousands of components. Therefore, Qualcomm just decided to stick to Asus, and in return, perhaps, offered to share some cool experience with her.

When will Qualcomm’s Smartphone Come Out?

And Qualcomm, most likely, has a lot of valuable developments. In any case, the company plans to adopt the new processor in a special way for its smartphone. What exactly the adaptation will be is not reported – in the end, even the fact of the device’s release has not yet been officially confirmed. But, I think, I will not be mistaken if I assume that it will be a kind of overclocking or an increase in game potential. For example, like Xiaomi, which invented to run games in RAM, or like MediaTek, which started overclocking processors when launching games and benchmarks.
As for the timing of the release of the first Qualcomm smartphone, I would not count on a release this year. As we know, the presentation of the Snapdragon 875 will take place only in December, then the processor will go into production and will be available for use only towards the end of January. Nevertheless, the Qualcomm device itself may be presented in December. After all, no one said that it was necessary to release it on the day of the announcement. It is quite possible to play a little at Apple and postpone the launch for a month or two, without rushing through all the necessary preparations.
